FAM Think Gate – Expo on miniature products from waste
One day expo “Think Gate” was organized by first year B.Sc Fashion Apparel Management students of NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion, Tirupur today. The students created and displayed various miniature size products from metal , paper and textile wastes. The products include robots, bicycle, pen stand, garment, Brand logo, toys etc. The students used metal waste like nuts, bolts, springs and also waste cardboards, waste fabrics and compact discs to make attractive miniature products. The students who made the products felt that the expo helped us to improve their creativity by making different kinds of products and also motivates us to make more products from other kind of textile wastes. Faculty coordinator Mr.K.Balamurugan said that the expo was visited by all the students of the institute and this kind of activity will motivate the students to learn about effective resource utilization and to minimize environmental pollution. Head of the department, Dr.P.P.Gopalakrishnan, said that the aim of the expo was to create awareness about reuse of waste products into usable products with the intention of minimizing environmental pollution. The event helps the students to improve their creative skills and team coordination. Batch of 41 students were divided into 7 teams and each team is assigned task of exhibiting different kind of product category, he added. Dr. K.P. Balakrishnan, Principal and Dr. A. Dayalarajan, Vice-Principal inaugurated the expo and congratulated the students for their efforts.
